ArmchairTours
Charleston CD-ROM
The first of the ArmchairTour Historic
City Series, it features information on buildings, history,
culture, and oddities. The concept of the product is simple
and original - a map with every single building outlined.
You can click on any building and see pictures, relevant dates,
historic information, architectural details, etc. It is within
this framework that the guided tours take you around, based
on specific topics like civil war tours, architectural style
tours, church tours, etc. If you don't want to follow a tour,
you can just roam around the map itself, freely following
links from building to building to detail to photo gallery.
Their web site is here: http://www.armchairtour.com/

The Hunley
In 1864, the CSS H.L. Hunley was the first
submarine to sink an enemy ship in combat. The sub was lost
that night as well; and has remained a mystery until now.
However, the Hunley wreck was recently been raised and finally
some of the questions will be answered.

Consider
A Walking Tour
The best way to see Charleston is to get
out on foot. From a moving vehicle, you just can not experience
the textures and details of the city - so consider a walking
tour.
